There are Gutchall/Cutshall/Cutchall's in Iowa. They may have went with the Steele's, Drorbaugh/Drawbaugh's, Fetrow's, Baker's, Foote's & others.. They all seem to have ties in PA. Iowa, Nebraska, & Kansas and possibly MO.
I have a theory that in the late 1840's & early 1850's there was a lot of these families that went West to Ohio, Indiana, Illinois & Iowa. Some stayed on in each of the states & other's either went back East or on to Neb, MO, & KS. Some of the families just stayed in PA. I have ties to all the families listed above & that is what seems to have happened to them.
Ron Rose has a Website http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=rrrose2 that has most of the Cutchall's/Gutshall & different variations of the name along with many other Surnames that are linked to them.
Look at all the different spellings. Just type an C in the search field & it will bring up all the names starting with the letter C. Try the G also.
Hope this helps you some.
