Hi Diane, I am aware of that Jacob Gutshall and the info you noted. He is the brother of my ggg grandfather, Michael. That group of siblings (children of John, Jr & Elizabeth)all moved with their mother from Perry Co., PA to Harrison Co., OH about 1822-23 just after their father John Gutshall, Jr. died in 1822. They grew up in Rumley Twp., Harrison Co., OH but in the mid 1850's several of them migrated on to Iowa & Missouri. However there are indications,that they remained in contact with some of their Perry / Cumberland County cousins. The Jacob you mentioned settled in Dallas Co., IA which today is west suburban Des Moines. You can find my Family Tree Maker website by doing a websearch for Gutshall/Cutshall of Iowa and Missouri. I still would like to know more about that 1820 Perry Co. census.
