I have been doing research on my maternal grandfather's family. I have traced it back to Louisville, KY. His grandfather Temple G. Wools/Woolls was born to James S. Wools/Woolls and Sidney Gwathmey. At least I believe that to be the case. The Jefferson Co., KY 1850 Census; Louisville district 1, p.2 lists:
James S. Wools (age 38), Sidney (age 44), Temple (age 12); also living with them are ???? Gwathmey (age 37), Bridget (age 30) and John (age 8)
I have not been able to find James, Sidney and Temple together after that census. I have located Temple on the 1870 Meade Co., KY census and later on in TX where he moved to. I haved found, what I believe to be James, on the 1870 Jefferson Co., KY Census, but he is married to a Nancy A. and has another child.
My question is: In your research, have you come across a Sidney (Sydnor) Gwathmey. Specifically, I am looking for marriage, death, burial place. I would like to somehow confirm that James S Wools did marry Sidney Gwathmey.
I would appreciate any information or leads. I am new to genealogy research and have hit a road block. Thank you.
