I am looking for any information on the GWINNUP'S that lived in Philadelphia, PA, in the late 1780s. Elizabeth GWINNUP was born February 09, 1786, in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, and died August 08, 1874, in San Bernardino, San Bernardino County, California. She married 1. Simon Johnson, November 30, 1808, in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. He was born April 01, 1781, in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, and died October 11, 1815, in Lake Erie, on War Ship "John Adams." She married (2) James Hunt September 06, 1838, in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. He died March 17, 1850, in Philadelphia County, PA. I think she is related to the George GWINNUP born 1753 in NJ. and Margaret Simpson (born about 1766 in NJ, died about 1857 probably in Hamilton Co., OH) NJ. 11 known children. Died 1840 in Hamilton Co., OH. Elizabeth's son wrote an autobiography which said he was born Oct. 13, 1811 in Phil. PA and went down the Ohio River by steamboat to Cincinnati, OH, to visit relatives. In 1832 married Elizabeth Martin, daughter of Judge Martin.

Also in Elizabeth's obituary it says she descended from the stock of the first settlers of Manhattan. Does anyone have any information on these GWINNUP families. I would appreciate any clues. Thanks.
