Welcome to the Gyle page. I seem to be the only person in the world who is seeking information on this family!

This is what I know, so far.

Captain John Gyle (b. 1830'2 or 40's) married Francis Amelia Woods (b unknown) Captain John was a Shipping Captain from Belfast Ireland. They were Protestant.

John and Fanny ahd six children: Robert, Sarah, John, Fanny, James, and Richard.
Richard was the only child to immigrate to America, Sarah went to Austrailia. James became Senator of East Belfast in 1925.
James had two sons James and Jack. James married Margaret O'Neill of Bessbrook, Armagh and both immigrated to America in 1923. My husband is the grandson of James and MAggie.

I am looking for information on Captain and Fanny and their parents. I know, from Griffith's Valuation that they lived in Knockbreda Parish in Cromac Ballymacarret.

Hope to meet SOMEONE who is also looking for Gyle
