I have a copy of an obituary for David Haacke found in a scrap book prepared by Effie Holmes Galbrau. Born July 25, 1801 in Markham Township, Upper Canada Died 1888.
His father, John, was a native of Holland. His mother, Hannah was from New York City and was a cousin of John Quincy Adams.
Captain David Haacke's daughter, Margaret married my gggrandfather George E. Holmes.
