Haagensen from Olso, Norway

Hi --
The family line I am attempting is Hans Haagensen/Haakensen from Oslo/Kristiania, Bækkegade 4 (1900 Census).
They came to America in 1903 and settled in Minnesota. I believe Hans and Mathea died there. The children died in Iowa, Oregon and California. I would like to do further research in Norway but do not know how to proceed backwards due to the language/handwriting barrier.
I have copies of the Grønland Parish records. I copied all the pages with Haagensen names.
This is a note from someone in Norway, "Bækkegaten dont exist anymore. But, it was, in 1865 a part of Grønland Parish, and, I would assume the same around 1900."
I did not find any of Hans children on the Gronland records. Does anyone have any ideas where I should look next? Hans was born in Skedsmo would that be a good place to look next? I think I found Hans on the 1875 census with this spelling Haakonsen. He is listed as a widower. I can't find him on the 1865 census.

Any help/suggestions/direction would be much appreciated.

Thanks...yvonne
