Kathleen,
I read once that the meaning of the name HAAK was Man with a Crooked Back, Haak,Hook were derived from same Hebrew nameof which I can not remember.

I read it in the meaning of names but I never kept the url and have not been able to find it again.

My late Dad was from Rotterdam & I believe the name Haak was prominent in Belgium/ Dutch Boarder at one time.

I would be interested to find out more about the Haak name.
