Thank you for your reply, Joan. Yes, I did check the materials you listed. I also was contacted by a "lost" cousin regarding this side of the Haan family. We found four boys in the family: Richard, Fred, Jacob and Cornelius. There was also a girl, Martha Haan Rose. Many of the siblings came to Grand Rapids, MI, from the Chicago area. Their mother was Effie (Afien) Dobbinga Haan. Their father was Nicholas (Klaas) Haan. He died in the Netherlands. Effie remarried in Grand Rapids, MI, Gerrit Meinema. A number of relatives have been contacted now, but we certainly can use more information. Thanks again.
