Haas, Philip Carl, son of Johann George Haas of Edenkoben, intened in the year of 1748 to go with his wife and five children, to the new land, "on account of better fortune". Ship Patience, 9/16/1748.

Haas Families.
In 1740 there emigrated to this county from Germany three brothers, Peter, John and Henry Haas, and settled in what is known as Upper Macungie township in Lehigh County. Peter lated moved to Berks County and Henry to the upper part of this county in what is known as Haas Dale. John Haas continued his residence at the original place of settlement and from him decended Philip Haas who was born in Northampton County (now Lehigh) Sept. 10, 1782 and died Nov. 14, 1862. He married Susanna Grammes. They had 10 children; John, Peter, Nancy, Maria, Katharine, Mary, Lydia and Sallie (twins), Eliza and Susan.

Peter Haas, born Dec. 25, 1748 and died June 9, 1834. On Aug. 13, 1776, he married Maria Christina Trexler who died Sept. 13, 1829, aged 75 years 10months and 10 days. They had 10 children.

Jonathan Haas, son of Peter, lived in Topton, Berks County. Member of the Reformed Church. He served as a JP. He married Catharine Trexler and had the following children; Nathan Trexler, Jarius, died unmarried, Peter who lived as Stony Point, Berks County and had a large family, Jonathan, Reuben who married Catharine DeLong of Topton, Judith married a Hoffman, Maria who married a Butz, and they settled in Schuykill County, and 3 of her daughter married respectively to Rev. Roeller, David Kutz and Charles Trexler. Jonathan Haas and his wife are buried at Mertztown, PA.

Nathan T. Haas, son of Jonathan, was born in Berks County, he was a farmer. He married Eliza Butz, the d/o Peter and Elizabeth (Schmeyer) Butz. Children; Frank H., William, Mary, Anna, Eliza, Sarah Ann, Charles B., Ella, Kate, Anna Elizabeth, Jonathan, and Nathan A.

Nathan A. Haas, born in Longswamp township, Bucks County. He married twice, his first wife was Ellen Keck, d/o Solomon and Matilda (Hartman) Keck. His second wife was Emma Jacoby, d/o John A. and Ellen (Dubs) Jacoby, who bore him 3 children; Robert, Ruth, and Marguerite.

Jacob Haas, son of Peter, was born Aug 10, 1780, died July 26, 1852. He served the Reformed Church officially. He married Catharine Kop, (Aug. 30, 1780-March 2, 1859), their children, Carolus and Alfred.

Carolus Haas, was born in Upper Macungie township and died at Allentown and is buried at Greenwood cemetery.
When he was 16 he played the pipe organ at Zion's church at Maxatawny and at Huff's Church. He married Louisa Frey, d/o of Daniel. Children; Milton J., Elda who married David Fisher of Allentown, Ida, the wife of Henry Bower, of Allentown, Charles T., a baker of Phila., Jennie, the wife of Frank "Baatz", of Fullertown, and Raymond of Allentown.

Milton J. Haas, M.D. of Allentown, was born March 11, 1874, member of the Reformed Church. He married Aug. 4, 1905 to Lillie A., d/o Leon and Leanna (German) Peters, of Germansville. His wife was a teacher.
