Maria Katharina Haas b 5/26/1862 Wolgagebiet, Saratov, Russia; d 7/18/1946 Fort Collins, Larimer, CO: m 12/25/1879 Messer, Saratov, Russia. Maria married Johan Fredrich Schuman b 12/11/1854 Wolgagebiet, Saratov, Russia: d 6/9/1929 Fort Collins, Larimer, CO. They had five children Fredrick P Schuman, Amelia Schuman, Henry Frank Schuman, Mary Katherine Schuman and Katarina Marie Schuman.
The family came to the US aboard the Pretoria and arrived at Ellis Island on 3/25/1906 from the port of Hamburg, Germany.
Fredrick was the brother of Heinrich Franz Schuman married to Catherina Staerkel who migrated to the US between 1885-1888. Heinrich sponsored his brothers family to the US and both brothers settled in Loveland, Larimer, CO. The families are both considered Volga Germans from Russia.
Maria Katharina is my Great Grandmother and I am trying to find any information I can to fill in the two previous generations. I would greatly appreciate any help you may be able to give me. Thank you.
