I started this Board with the Hope that it will be useful in continuing the research into the HABBERSHON Family, it's History, it's Ancestry and with the hope that it will instill a sense of Pride into the Family's Heritage.
My ties into this Family are through My Mother - Peggy Jean Habbershon. I have found a fair amount of information on this HABBERSHON Family in the USA. As far back as I have been able to go shows this Family Line originates in the Sheffield , Yorkshire area of England.
I have back only as far as My 3rd Great Grandfather - William HABBERSHON. This is all I know of Him so far. (Name). I don't know yet who His wife was , etc. He was born in England. ( I would guess around 1800-1810). His Son James is My connection.
My 2nd Great Grandfather - James HABBERSHON was born in March 1839 in Sheffield,Yorkshire,England.
He married Emma Mary BEEVORS on 28 NOV 1859 in the Parish Church, Parish of Darfield, District of Barnsley, County of Yorkshire , England. She was the daughter of William and Julia ? Beevors. (This is from the Marriage Certificate)
The Sheffield area of England had alot of Mining in the area. James was a Coal Miner(He also managed a Hotel in Osceola Mills , PA for a short time). James and Emma had a Daughter Julia on 18 DEC 1861 in Yorkshire , England. Sometime in 1863 the Family emmigrated to the USA. (I have not found on what Ship or exact date yet). The Family settled into Osceola Mills , Clearfield County , Pennsylvania. (This is a Coal Mining area in PA).
Shortly after James & Emma had Their 1st child born in the USA. John William HABBERSHON - born OCT 1864 in Osceola Mills , PA . Their other children were , Joseph D. (My Great Grandfather) born 14 JUN 1868, Lavina - born JAN 1871, and Benjamin - born 8 FEB 1873. All born in Osceola Mills.
Most of the Family stayed , married and lived in Osceola Mills.
Joseph D. HABBERSHON married Savilla Jane RYVER abt 1868 (daughter of John & Mary RYVER). They had 10 children , Hattie Mae, Mary Lavina, John William, Lester Grant, Clair J., Benjamin J., Anna Mae, Flora Ester, William Robert (MY Grandfather), & Geraldine.
William eventually moved to Lewistown , Mifflin County , PA. Here He married Gladys Larue (Jean) CORSON on 24 SEP 1938. She was the daughter of Alden H. & Julia Ann DRUCKEMILLER Corson. William & Gladys had 14 children.
Florann, Peggy Jean ( My Mother), William Meridith, Joseph Robert, Bonnie Kay, Edward Dwayne, Raymond Harold (died as an infant), Merle Thomas, Stephen Larry, John Leroy, David Lee, Jerry Ray & Terry Fay (Twins) and Michael Edward..
Peggy Jean HABBERSHON (My Mother) married Robert Lewis WILEMAN on 18 JUN 1960 in Lewistown , Mifflin County , PA.
Robert & Peggy have 4 children , Robert William (Myself), Darwin Anthony, Jerry Lee, and Margret Jean. Peggy also had a Son Ronald Lee. (My Stepbrother).
I married Christene Elizabeth BENDER on 30 JUN 1980 in Lewistown. We have 2 sons, Robert William Jr. & David Michael. We also have 2 Grandchildren, Dakota Michael Wileman -born 1997 & Delilah Jane Wileman - born 2001..
Hopefully someone will connect with this Family and maybe We can carry the research further back.
Any info will be greatly appreciated. Together I'm sure the HABBERSHON Family's History can be deciphered.
