Great Joan, My sister just sent me a couple of items: Poet, Johann Peter HEBEL, born 11 May 1760, near Schopfheim, in Baden. He died 22 Sep 1826 at Schwetzingen. For his poems, he selected the simple and Popular dialect which prevails near Basle, and, with various modifications, over a great part of Swabia. There is much more. The poems were first published at Karlsruhe, in 1808.
Raymond Michael HEBEL, son of Mr Raymond Sr. and Elizabeth HEBEL, is an Elvis Presley impersonator. My sister first encountered him when he came into the fabric store she was working at. A few years later he sang the National Anthem at the Moorpark $th of July fireworks display. He is a graduate of California Lutheran University, class of 1975, in Thousand Oaks, CA, where my sister lives. He preformed at the 14th Annual Gala Celebration for the King of Rock 'n' Roll Jan 26, 2002 in Thousand Oaks.
