Hi I am Lynnette, I have been searching for my great-grandfathers family for over 7 years now. It is very difficult I know. I wish you luck.
My great-grandfather was from the Baden area. He was born somewhere 1834-1840 area in time. I think he came to the states around 1866 he was here in Chicago by 1867 his wife my great-grandmother Francicsa was with him not sure of her last name maybe Lucht my one relative but Ayllen by another.
Not even sure of the spelling of the last name was Habel on some cencus and Hebel on others. To this day part of the family goes by one spelling and some the other. My great-grand parents had 7 children each of them has done their share to populate the US.
