HOVERMALES in early Berkeley Springs, WV

A friend is interested in starting research on her family; maiden name was Hovermale. Her father was raised in Berkeley Springs, WV (b. ca. 1915; now deceased). A few years ago I checked a few records in that area and believe I saw information on a Christian Hovermale around the time of the Revolutionary War. There are still many people in this area (a large radius around Washington, DC) with that surname in various spellings. Anyone have information on any of this man's family. I have some records at home which I will try to enter in the forum. Any help would be appreciated.
