I am researching the Habishaw/Habisher/Habbeshaw name from West Riding Yorkshire. I have been recording the names from the Hampsthwaite Parish Church registers for the years 1760 to 1841. I am also recording some Chambers names as my GGGGrandparents John Habishaw and Rebecca Chambers were married there in 1822. John's father, I believe was William and William's father MAY be Potter Habisher. John's son Robert married Betty Hilton in Rochdale, Lancashire. He moved to Fall River Mass with 5 daughters in 1890. Previous to the move they were living in Oldham. One of the daughters, Betsy is my GGrandmother, she married Joseph Broomhead. Is anybody else out there searching this line????
