I am connected to the Haddow family from Kilmarnock.

My great grandfather was John Gibson (b. 1851 in Kilmarnock). He married Catherine Haddow (b. abt. 1854)on 26 Feb 1876 and had 13 children. Catherine was the daughter of William Haddow and Jane/Jean/Jeannie Main who married on 13 Jan 1845. Catherine Gibson (nee Haddow) died on 5 Jul 1909 in Kilmarnock. The death certificate gave the parents of Catherine as William Haddow and Jane Main.

William Haddow died on 11 Jul 1875 in Kilmarnock. His death certificate gave his parents as John Haddow and Jean Semple.

I don't have the details of Catherine Haddow's birth, but census info and the death certificate point to 1854. I looked on the ScotlandsPeople web site but could not find her. I hadn't looked for any brothers or sisters.

Best regards

Andy
