It has been stated that Alexander Haddow, who married Jane Irvine in Cambusnethan, Lanarkshire, Scotland in 1868, was the son of William McPherson Haddow and Mary West. Alexander shows up on 1861 census as son of William and Mary Haddow in Cambusnethan, that's pretty evident. Does anyone have evidence that William and Mary of Cambusnethan are actually William McPherson Haddow and Mary West and/or that they are Alexander's parents? The only evidence I can find is a hypothesis derived from process of elimination in the Old Parochial birth and marriage records of Lanarkshire, which, by the way, do not include Alexander but do include the birth of William McPherson Haddow and his marriage to Mary West. Any evidence, family oral history included, securing Alexander's parents would be very welcome.
After Alexander died, Jane married Carl Rouland as evidenced by her cemetery record in Scranton City Cemetery, Osage Co., Kansas: Rouland, Jane I Haddow, b. Feb 1, 1845, d. Nov 24, 1918.
