According to several researchers I have spoken to, the first record of the Haddow name (note that this refers only to the version which uses the 'w') dates back to the 13th century in the Angus area of Forfarshire (includes Dundee). There is no heraldric record of any family crest. The Angus District tartan is the one that the family is entitled to wear. Haddow is not a sept of any other family with a registered tartan.
