Margaret, you are a fountain of great information.
About the 1885 wedding announcement, another Hagerman descendant, great-great-granddaughter of George and Eliza Ann through their daughter Adelaide, remembers her parents knowing both Van Arsdales and Fergusons as family friends early in the 20th century. So presumably the wedding party was on fairly close terms with the George & Eliza Ann Hagerman family, or at least their children. The timing suggests that Barnce R. Hagerman could have been a grandchild of John and Phebe Hagerman, thus a nephew of George and Eliza Ann and cousin of Adelaide. But you seem to be suggesting that the only Barnce or Barnet Hagermans you know of were at best distantly related, maybe not at all. Is there any chance of a John & Phebe grandchild named Barnce?
Thanks for the tip about the map. I will inquire with the Allaire or some other park about buying a copy.
