My mother was Charlotte Blitzstein daughter of Kalman Blitzstein and Brina (Betty) Haimowitz. My mother was born in Philadelphia. Brina and Kalmen came from Galatz, Romania. Brina had sisters Sarah and Rivka and brothers Leon, Max and Phillip. They were the children of Hersh Haimowitz and Rivka. We are not sure of Rivka's maiden name. There is a link on to the famous Brodsky family of Romania and the Ukraine. The Brodsky's of Odessa were known as the "Sugar Kings" because they owned the beet sugar refining and sales. Hersh and perhaps Rivka were born in Odessa. Her maiden name may have been Brodsky. Any links here?
