Sarah Haines marr. Joseph C. Porter abt 1868. Sarah took baby Milo (b 1868) to marriage. She was Joseph's 2nd of 3 wives. Sarah and Joseph had Ellen, 1870, Bessie (later adopted by aunt Hulda Smith). Abraham and Harriet Porter Osterhout adopted (?) young Milo in 1870, 1875, 1880 Sull. Co census. Milo (1868-1940) (my grandfather) went to WV bef. 1895, then to Ohio in 1921.

Been searching for 30 yrs for Sarah's parentage. I don't know if she was a single mother or widow of Milo's father. Any help or leads would be gretly appreciated.--Edith Haines Sampson
