Ran across an application for a Civil War Veterans pension, on the 'net. It listed a Charles Haines; Co.K 6th Regiment N.Y.Heavy Artillery. The interesting part was that he had an alias, Edwin Forrest. His widow was listed as Augusta Haines.
My Great-Great Grandfathers brother was James Hunt. I believe his daughter was Augusta. Her Mother(Charlotte) and her were living with a Richard Forrest family in N.Y.City according to the 1850 Census. One of the childrens names was Edwin Forrest aged 3 years. Anybody researching this Family?
