You may be confusing two, different William's. William Beverly Brewer was:

233311. WILLIAM BEVERLY HAINES

William Beverley Haines b. 19JUN1858 (ca. 1860 in 1881, JUN1857 in 1911), d. York Co., NB 27APR1930, m. York Co., NB 2APR1903 Treatha Viola Brewer (b. Zealand, York Co., NB 23JUL1884 (JUL1885 in 1911)), d/o Samuel and Alice (Brewer) Brewer.
W. Beverly and ‘Tretha’ Haines were in Bright Parish, York Co., NB in 1911.
children:
233311. ALBERT W. HAINES b. Hainesville, York Co., NB 24JUL1903 (AUG1903 in 1911)
233311. INEZ W. HAINES b. AUG1904
233311. CECIL E. R. HAINES b. Hainesville, York Co., NB 15OCT1907
and was the s/o:

William Haines b. 17AUG1832, m. Anne Rice (b. 10OCT1831.)
In 1881 in Bright Parish, York Co., NB. Both were English, b. NB and Methodist; and William was a farmer. In Bright Parish in 1911 living with his son, Beverley.

William Haines b. ca. 1884 would appear to be William L. Haines in the family:

23339. SAMUEL NELSON HAINES

Samuel Nelson Haines b. 6NOV1849 (ca. DEC1849), d. 20JUL1905 age 55 year and 8 months, bur. Scotch Settlement Cem., York Co., NB, m. at her father’s residence, Bright Parish, York Co., NB by the Rev. P. R. Knight 20MAR1879 Annie Amelia Allen (b. 23JUL1861, d. 23JUL1919, bur. Scotch Settlement Cem., York Co., NB.)
Samuel and Annie were in Bright Parish, York Co., NB in 1901. The ages given to their children and the corresponding birth-dates had a 10-year discrepancy. For example, their eldest daughter ‘Lund?’ is given as b. 5JAN1872, but is age 18 years. Mary is given as b. 24MAR1877, but is age 13 years, and William is b. 27AUG1875, but is age 15 years. The other children seem to have dates and ages that match. Of course, when compared to birth records (Mary was b. 24MAR1888, not 1887), there is the usual one-year discrepancy. Della and Effie’s birthdays appear to have been transposed.
In 1911, in Bright Parish, Annie is a widow, and her son, William, is given as head-of-household.
children:
233391. LENA AUGUSTA HAINES b. Scotch Settlement, York Co., NB 5JAN1883 (5JAN1882 in 1901), m. York Co., NB 16MAY1906 GEORGE L. DeLONG
233392. WILLIAM L. HAINES b. 27AUG1885 (27AUG1875 in 1901, AUG1886 in 1911), d. York Co., NB 17FEB1925, bur. Scotch Settlement Cem., York Co., NB, m. MARY E. _____ (b. 1888, d. 1941, bur. Scotch Settlement Cem., York Co., NB)
233393. L. MARY HAINES b. Scotch Settlement, York Co., NB 24MAR1888 (24MAR1877 in 1901, MAR1888 in 1911)
233394. DELLA VERNETTA HAINES b. Scotch Settlement, York Co., NB 2OCT1890 (19OCT1890 in 1901, OCT1891 in 1911)
233395. BURTON ROY HAINES b. 11AUG1894 (AUG1894 in 1911), d. York Co., NB 2DEC1925 (3DEC1920 on headstone?), bur. Scotch Settlement Cem., York Co., NB
233396. EFFIE ADELAIDE HAINES b. Scotch Settlement, York Co., NB 19OCT1896 (2OCT1896 in 1901, OCT1896 in 1911), d. 1986, bur. Scotch Settlement Cem., York Co., NB, m. York Co., NB 6MAR1918 GEORGE FREDERICK (FREDERICK A.?) KIDNEY
233397. ANNIE C. HAINES b. APR1903, d. 1979, bur. Scotch Settlement Cem., York Co., NB, m. Bright Parish, York Co., NB 19OCT1921 HAROLD WILLIAM (WILLIAM HAROLD) PLATT (b. 1898, d. 1978, bur. Scotch Settlement Cem., York Co., NB)

The two William's were 1st cousins.

Thomas
