Info. on Jeremiah "Judd" Hakes?
I am looking for anyone who may be able to help me with information about my great uncle Judd Hakes. He was a brother to my grandfather, Charles Alonzo Hakes, both born in Barbours Mills, Lycoming Co., PA.Their parents were Enos George Hakes and Gertrude "Gertie" Miller.Charles was the oldest, born in 1889, followed by a brother, George, born in 1891 and died in 1911 (supposedly in a fall), and then a sister, Isabella "Bell", born in 1893, and then the youngest, Jeremiah "Judd."Their father died April 1895 and Judd was born in October 1895.The children were all divided among different relatives and were never all together again, even after their mom remarried later in 1896.
I could follow Judd for awhile with the Millers, but then he was gone. All I know about him is that my mother met him in the 1950s when he stopped unexpectedly to visit with my grandfather in NY.My grandpap had a small farm there. He told my mom (who didn't know there was a brother up until that time) that Judd had been out West and was having trouble in his marriage.Judd was there a very short time and then he left.I never saw him.
Well, I have been unable to find anything about Judd.No social security no., no census record, no draft card, just nothing.Does anyone know anything about this person or have any ideas that might help me?
