Two possible leads: The most probable would be John H. Halbert, b. 1827 who served in Company B, 17th Texas Calvary in Civil War. His family has Navaroo County ties. Other possible would be James Henry Halbert, b. Feb. 02, 1835; d. June 11, 1921 who served in the Civil War. He has ties to Kaufman County, Texas
