After reading the Forum, I did'n realize there were so many Halberts in Limestone Co., AL during 1820 and 1830.
All I could come up with, is, John and his wife Susannah (Higgins) Halbert, Joel and his wife Elizabeth "Betsey" (Poindexter) Halbert and Charles and his wife Elizabeth (Halbert) Goode. I did come across a name, Hail Halbert there in the 1820's, but I have to check on this further.
There was a, Stephen Halbert that married a Saphrona S. Garner, there was no return, but the license date was 15 Oct 1833, Limestone Co., AL. They did get married. Stephen Halbert, died intestate in Limestone Co., 1835 and his widow was Saphrona Halbert. It is very possible this Stephen was a son of Joel and Betsey Halbert. Saphrona's father maybe Thomas Garner.
Other Limestone Co., marriages I have questions on:
John Halburt and Sary Andrews, 1842. Anybody have anything on this John??
Nancy Halbert and MaClin McLemore, 1843. by W.B. Bryan (feel this is a daughter of John and Susannah Halbert) This family stayed in Limestone Co., AL., and lived in the same area as, John and Susannah Halbert.
Susan Halbert and James Edmondson, 1843, by W.B. Bryan (daughter of John and Susannah?? or Joel and Betsey))
In Lauderdale Co., AL,
Wilson/William Halbert and Nancy Chandler, 1840, by W.R. Bryant/W.B. Bryan?
Joel and Betsey's son, Andrew J. Halbert married Mariah Chandler, 1862 in Lauderdale Co. In 1850, Andrew was living with his parents in AR.
James Holbert m. Matilda Burrow, 17 Dec1834. The 1850 Lauderdale Co., census info, had James as 43 years old and born in NC (1807). Is he a son of Joel and Betsey Halbert or is NC an error, and he is a son of John and Susannah Halbert??
