Hi Vicki,
I am researching this Halbert line as well. On the 1850 Upshur County, Texas census there are other Halbert's who I believe are children of Mrs. D Halbert and siblings of Eliza Ann Halbert. On the census they are listed by initials, but I found more info on the Upshur County GENWEB page.

Carroll C Halbert (b. 1820 TN d. 1869 bur. Red Rock Cemetery, Upshur, TX)

Claborn D Halbert (b. 1824 TN d. 1875 bur. Red Rock Cemetery, Upshur, TX) possible wife E.M. _____

These two men served as Postmen in Upshur County in the 1860's.

Hopefully this info will help.

Kim
