John & Elizabeth Dement's sons, James Parker & Stephen Dement, both married Susan A. Garner the daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth Garner. James P and Susan married in Limestone Co., Ala. Nov. 20, 1853. They had three children and then James died in the Civil War 7-31-1864 in Ft Smith Ark. Susan then married Stephen Dement, her brother-in-law in Smith Co Tx June 19, 1865 . ~~~Wilma
