The original immigrant was Johann Michael Hoffacker and the Ship was Loyal Judith from Rotterdam last out of Cowes, England. I have a signed copy of the ships manifest...his signature. It is belived Johann Michael Hoffacker had another son, illegitimate, and the hundreds (maybe thousands) of Hoffackers in America descend from him. He would have been Michael Huffaker's half-brother. Michael and family came to VA in 1768. I had read (somewhere) that Mary Lowe was royal and if I can find reference I'll send. Let me have your E-Mail.
I would like to know what you know about Halfacres in VA. Two earlier family historians treat them as outsiders to Michael's family. Also the most prolific, Ione Nolan, discounts very early arguments that Michael had two brothers Jacob and Henry. Yet Jacob and Henry appear in the Wash. Co., marriage register Jacob as Halfacre and Henry as Huffacor and I wonder if these are family members e.g. nephews of Michael,but they do not tie directly to Michael and there are more "Huffaker-sound alikes" in VA in late 1700s - early 1800s not related to Michael
