Halfaker - Surber - Pinney
I located every genealogist's dream today. In a box of stuff bought at an auction - I discovered a very old picture album with many pictures from around 1900 or before - including one that says it is his returning from the Civil War picture. It is a burgundy velvet album that had a metal closure (part of which is off) - with flowers on the front and the word Album. In the album (one picture per page) is pictures of Halfakers (many have names - including a number of what looks to be old tintypes in very good shape - Surbers and Pinneys. Some of the studio pictures say they are from cities in Indiana.A Cola Surber from Pulaski County Kentucky married Mary Halfaker. There is also an announcement for what appears to be a 50 year anniversary in 1909 in Pittsboro, Indiana for Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Halfaker.
I would like to get the album back to a member of the family. If you have these names in your tree, please contact me and I will see if some of the names fit.I will also post this on the Surber Message Board.I will do everything I can to get it in the correct hands.
