My Great Great Grandfather was Winslow Hall from the information I gathered he was born March 1831 in Brewer?, Maine. He had a brother Osner Hall born August 22, 1836 in Bangor, Maine (he fought in the Civil war). Winslow's sister was Olive Hall who married William J. Oakes. I believe that the the father of Olive, Osner and Winslow was Simeon Hall. The same Simeon Hall who married Mary Wescott Dorr.
The reason I believe that Simeon Hall was Winslow Hall's father was that in a book from the U.S.genweb it states:
"Olive Hall's father was Simeon Hall. He went to California in the days of forty-nine, made a fortune and returned to his native state (Maine). His sons were all seafaring men, four of them being captains of steamships. Two are now in San Francisco, Charles E. and Andrew. " (from History of North Washington published 1904).
Winslow Hall along with his brother Osner Hall didn't become captains of ships instead they inherited the goldrush fever from there father. I do not know when Winslow Hall or Osner Hall left Maine for Washington State, but in 1880 they are both found in the Washington State census. In 1873 Winslow Hall marries Adell Franzier or Fraser who is a native American woman from Washington. By 1890 Winslow Hall along with his sons from the Fraser marriage and his Brother Osner and their cousin's the Oakes discover the Silver King Gold Mine And strike it rich. Unfrotunately by the time I was born all of the money was gone (what a pity).
Winslow Hall's children were: Charles H. Hall (1869-1944), Albert died 1912, Bob or Robert Hall, Thomas H. Hall (1864-1894) and my great Grandfather George Hall unfortunately I don't know when he was born or when he died I suspect he may have married a Madelaine Paul and then latter married my Great Grandmother Jennie Schulock.
If anyone has any Information about Winslow Hall, Osner or any of Winslow HAll's children or his wife Adell Fraser, I would love to hear from you.
