Olive Halsey was married to David Cress in 1834, this date makes it highly unlikely she is a daughter of William and Rachel since Rachel would have to be over 50 at her birth.
Olive is listed as a child of Amos born 1819 married 1834, the dates here are in line with feasible dates for Amos Halsey and Elizabeth Howell being the parents of Olive. There is an internet listing that puts Amos death in 1802. I disagree with this date for the following reasons:
A. He was born in 1782, this would make him 20 yrs old at death and yet he is known to have married and raised a fmaily of considerable size ( 10 children are listed through internet sources)none of which were born before 1817.
B. Elizabeth Howell, wife of Amos is also listed as having died the same year (1802).
I therefore tend to believe this may instead be a marriage date for this couple.
You mentioned a will for Amos.Do you have a date of death from this will?
I am descended from Amos son Sylvester so I have no further information for you directly relating to your lines after Amos.I have considerable information pre Amos though if you need it.
