The thoughts within the family are that they came from England either under Cromwells Land Grants or later as soldiers garrisoned possibly in or near Dublin/Co. Westmeath. Any information you have on Haltons moving over to Ireland may give me a clue to work back from, it is a long shot, but the trail is dry in Dublin prior to 1795.
