my maiden name was halton, coming from wigan lancs, my dad henry (born 1919, in hindley nr wigan) his father thomas had 8 children and was married to isabel makinson. the other children's names were, stanley,bill, muriel,mildred,margaret,gertrude and one more that i cannot remember. I am not sure if there is an irish connection , thomas halton worked as an engineer in the mines.
