Andy
There seems to be a little confusion between two Halton families. One originated in Halton nr Leeds where four brothers with their uncle joined William the Conquerer at Hastings. Nigel ended up in Cheshire nr Runcorn and became 1st Baron of Halton, Constable of Cheshire. The other group originated in the Manor of Halton near Lancaster and then moved up to Greenthwaite Hall in Cumberland.
