Seeking info on John B. Hambright b 7-5-1820 and d 8-15-1850. Book on Frederick Hambright's family says John married to Sharle Pettitt (believe wife was Charlotte Petty). John is not buried in the Hambright Cemetery in McMinn Co., GA. Charlotte Hambright is on the 1860 census for Calhoun, McMinn Co., TN and her son is listed as John B. Hambright, Jr. Family lore says that John B. Hambright and his mother-in-law, Mrs. Petty were both drown in a flood. Does anyone know if there was a flood in eithr southern McMinn Co. or northern Bradley Co., TN in August of 1850. Most likely it would have been the Hiwassee river. Thank you for any help.
