I have few Hamelin in Assomption,Qué. The first one I have who went to l'Assomption is Augustin-Ferdinand Hamelin. He married Geneviève Charet at Grondines in 1765.

There is few Hamelin who went to Illinois and got married there as well.

But do not forgot another Hamelin was in New-French at the same period that the Hamelin brother's. You can check as well for Nicolas Hamelin. I thing he was living in Québec city for a period of time.
