AGATHE HAMELIN/ JOSEPH NORMAND
Posted by: Lucy Tong Date: February 07, 2002 at 21:10:18

Hi,
I am very confused!!! AGATHE HAMELIN married JOSEPH NORMAND in 1768,the daughter of whom? Some say that she is the d/o Laurent-Eustache (but he is a GAMELIN; different family altogether, then Agathe would be a GAMELIN and not a HAMELIN). There are no Gamelin families who took the dit name of Hamelin, and none of the Hamelin families who took the dit name of Gamelin, so how can one explain how Laurent-Eustache Gamelin became dit Hamelin.

OR is it the AGATHE HAMELIN who is the d/o of a CHARLES-FRANCOIS HAMELIN(s/o Jacques and Antoinette Richard-Lavallee)and ATHANESE (a Sauteuse sauvagesse baptized Charlotte who died in 1745 shortly after her daughter Agathe was born) who m. JOSEPH NORMAND. Charles-Francois Hamelin married at least 2 of the Sauteuse sisters. Is there somebody out there that can help me solve this problem? Would appreciate any comments. Many thanks in advance!

Lucy
