Hi Michelle,
There is virtually no French-Canadian family dating to the late 1600s that does not have Algonquin or some kind of Indian blod. But if this one does, insofar as your branch is concerned, I'm not aware of it. If you hunt long and hard enough, you'll probably turn something up.

My dad's mom Sophie Lareau had enough to make me 1/512th Algonquin. But that's my only such discovery. Many of the fur-trading Hamelins in the west tok native wives, of course.
