Michelle,
I started with the information I found in the family bible.
It had Felix HAMELIN born in France. I then found most of my info from ancestry.com cunsus. It had him listed as Felix P. HHAMELIN, born in France. I was able to get hold of death certificate of his youngest daughter, Marie Victorine HAMELIN. She was born Nov. 9, 1865 and died May 7 1943. She was the only child of five that didn't get married. Her certificate shows her father as Peter HAMELIN,
born in Bordeaux, France. Her Mother as Anita PALMER, born in Pensacola Florida.I am convenced that this information is accuret.
I havent been able to trace him in France. The rest of the family is in the 1860 census twice, once under F Hamelin and again under Felix HAMELIN about three weeks apart. I think they moved and got counted again. Do you know of any HAMELINS in or from the Bordeaux region in France?

clement
