Michelle,
I am writing tis from Birmingham, Al. I have been here since about 1990. I was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama. Much of the family reords are there. Mobile used to be part of the louisania teritory. There is no Canadan library there. The Mobile Public library has some records when Was part of the diocese in Canada. We were able to trace the Nicholases branch by some of the records. When the U. S. bought the land, that ended.
Most of my generation and my parent's generation are Catholic. On my father's side my grand father was Epocopl. On my mother's side my grandfather was Lutherin. I have no
idea what the Hamelins were. I understand that Aristide HAMELIN, the first son of Felix, had marriage problems that ended in devorce due to religious difference.
