Hi Debbie,

Regarding the parents of Ignace Trottier, I would go with option #1 as well. Doing some digging I found that Louis Hamelin and Antoinette Aubert's daughters that you mentioned:

a.- M.-Madeleine,married to Pierre Roy-Chatellereau on
27 Feb, 1710 [note:she was born in 1686]

b.- Louise-Rose,(not Marie-Louise) b.7 Sept 1704,
married to François Rivard dit Loranger
8 Feb 1723

Your Marie-Louise appears to be the daughter of François and sister of my ancestor René.

As an "Oh by the way...." She had a brother,Joseph who married a Madeleine Trottier in 1731 .

Hope this helps clarify things somewhat.
