I also am descended from the Hammanns (Hammans) of Pike Co., Ohio. I visited the Hamman Church at Zahn's Corner, Pike Co., a couple of years ago. It was built in 1849, is still standing and used, and has a cemetery with the Hammans' graves in it, spelled with two "n's". I have photos of all the Hamman markers, including Phillip and George. The bricks for the church were fired on site, and are in great shape still.

My grandfather was George Hamman from Kansas, b. 1893 d. 1958.
