I have a Mary Hamman or Hamann born May 9, 1806, Daniel Hamman or Hamann born 1808 and Leah Hamman or Hamann born October 10, 1810 in Pennsylvania, perhaps with parents Henry Hamman or Hamann married to Mary Whetmore. No original research here - this came from someone else.
HOWEVER I have a lot of information on Leah Hamman or Hamann - the spelling of the name is inconsistent -- as she is my great-great-great-grandmother.
Leah married John Catt (b Oct 4 1810 in Columbiana County, Ohio, son of George Catt b Mar 5 1781 and Mary Smith b Feb 6 1790) on January 3, 1833 in Stark County, Ohio. See posting on "CATT Family Genealogy Forum" for more info on that line.
Most significantly, Leah was a Dunkard (Dunker, later that became German Baptist Brethren).
John and Leah moved from Stark County, Ohio to Indiana around 1834 and had a large family: Josiah Franklin "Frank"; Clarissa, George, Abram/Abraham, Ada Mary known as Mary, GFrancis Merrian, John Edward, Louis S. and Leah Amanda known as Amanda.
John and Leah (Hamman) Catt moved to Dunn County, Wisconsin after the Civil War. Some of their children and grown grandchildren already lived there, leaving behind other children and grandchildren in the Marshall County and Kosciusko County areas and Logansport, IN.
Leah died in Menomenie, Dunn County, Wisconsin and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Menomenie, Dunn County, WI.
I have researched the Catt line since the mid-1980s but am stuck on how to find Leah's family. It would be nice to know more. A small portion of my Catt family history is on the website.
