Hamman Family Genealogy Forum
You can't imagine how excited I was to receive your email!! Since my grandmother and her twin sister were separated shortly after they were born, I have been trying to piece the family puzzle together. I do know that John Theodore Hamman, his wife Ethel Hunt Hamman, and my grandmother's twin sister Elsie were listed in the 1900 census in Brooklyn, New York. I have no idea why my grandmother Ethel Hamman lived with her aunt and uncle (Fannie Hamman and Walter Valentine) and not her twin sister and her parents. My grandmother and her twin sister were never reunited. After that point everyone seems to disappear. My father did tell me that he knew that his grandfather, John Theodore Hamman (he called him Uncle John and was never told that he was actually his grandfather)got married again, got a job with the Fuller Brush Company and moved to Tampa. So it makes sense then when you tell me that John T. Hamman died in Tampa. Does the family still live in Tampa because I live in Sarasota, Fl? Can you fill in any of the missing pieces in the puzzle? Do you know anything about John T.Hamman's life in Brooklyn, NY? I am sorry to bombard you with so many questions, but I have been searching for such a long time. Hope to hear from you soon. I wonder if I can send you my email address? Anne
