Well, I found out that marrage records are VERY expensive (over $30.00 per, in person). We went to the Greenwood Cemetary in Brooklyn, and found a few more Hammans, but I don't know if they're related. Had more frustration than anything else; records departments changed their names (9/11 safety issues)& moved around, and I think I walked about 20 miles one day--and I'm NOT a walker! I tried for marriage notices, legal notices, birth notices, ect. in the Brooklyn paper of the time, and in the New York Times; no results.
I apparently did not give you the e-mail, and apologze: firstname.lastname@example.org
Unless you have already done so, I'm probably going to break down and order John T. "Jr.'s" Marriage License, just to find out Susan J.'s maiden name, (I hope!)since she's his mother. Then I'll order John T. "Sr.'s" Marriage License, since he was supposed to list his parents' names, and see if there was any kind of a Divorce Decree or Intention-of-Divorce for J.T. "Jr." & Ethel Farrell Hunt, and for J.T. "Sr." and Susan J. I hope to be able to find out who "Hunt" was, and--with any luck, who Josephine was--besides being J.T. "Sr.'s" 2nd wife.
