The Magoffin County Historical Society is currently gathering information on the Hammond's family, any variation, for their Founders Day Celebration for Labor Day Weekend. The primary focus of their work is the decendant of John Hamman of Greenbrier Co., VA/WV later of Floyd and Morgan Co.'s KY and that of Joseph Hammon 1769-1867, born in Pittsyvania Co., VA, later of Wilkes County North Carolina, then Russell Co., VA, then Floyd, Perry, Letcher, Morgan and Magoffin Co.'s of KY.
