Mr Gochenouer, You may want to reserve your suppostition regarding the fact that Samuel Hamman (Hammond) is not shown on the 1860 Federal Census in Hannah Hamman's household. Your comment "he left her to fend for five children" is a harsh accusation, considering the strong possibility he was deceased in 1851. Such calumny is unwelcome and should not be cast about so discourteously. Signed, a direct descendant of Samuel and Hannah's, Kate Peterson Victor
