I am just starting genealogy research, but I do know that my great-great grandfather was named William Hamman and his (second) wife's name was Mary Henning Hamman. My aunt told me he came to the US from Germany and settled in the state of Pennsylvania before moving to the state of Ohio. At this point, I don't know much more than that, except that he worked at a sawmill and had a son named George Byron, who was my great grandfather. If this could be the William Hamman you were inquiring about, please let me know.
